Narrative

The place I come from is named Taiwan (the Republic of China). It was called "Formosa" (a beautiful island) by Portuguese colonizers in the 16th century. Having beautiful scenery, delicious food, nice people, and comfortable climate, it is a nice place to visit! Welcome to Taiwan! Know more about Taiwan. I am interested in environmental sociology, globalization, sociology of knowledge, sociology of science and technology, economic sociology, gender studies, and human-animal relationship. My master thesis was "The Commoditization of Pets: An Analysis of the Emergence and Development of Dog Markets in Taiwan since the 1950s."
