    Migration and contentious politics, postsocialist 'survival strategies', externalities of European Union expansion, global justice movements, subcultures.

    Research

    Currently, I am developing a dissertation project on the contentious politics of current migration from and through the former Soviet Union. I am also completing work that looks at how the complexities of popular discourses that legitimize the dacha food economy diverge from dominant ways of knowing about postsocialist transformation.
