    Interest Areas and Experience
I am currently interested in the intersection of Sociology and Social Work and how critical social theories could better inform practice in the latter. I have extensive experience in the social services, in particular in child welfare, and am curious how theories of race, gender and power could be applied to an analysis of social policy and intervention. Past and current research projects have examined the politics of the welfare state and its retrenchment, as well as, the privatization of certain social services relating to child welfare.
