Current Research
Panel Conditioning Effects in Longitudinal Studies: How does participating in a long-term longitudinal study alter individuals’ attitudes and behaviors—or at least their propensity to accurately report those attitudes and behaviors? To address this issue I will spend the next several years using data from the Youth Development Study and the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study and semi-experimental research techniques.
Work and Family across the Life Course: Consequences for Health and Well-Being in Late Adulthood: Using data on more than 10,000 Wisconsin high school graduates and their siblings who have been interviewed periodically between 1957 and 2004, I plan to model the impact of work and family across the life course on health, well-being, financial security, and other outcomes in late adulthood.
High School Exit Examinations and Educational and Labor Market Success: This ongoing project is designed to assess the effects of state-mandated high school exit examinations on high school completion, educational achievement, and post-high school labor market outcomes.
