Robert Fox manages the Graduate Program Office and coordinates activities centered on the department's graduate program, including recruitment, application procedures, and recommendations for graduate students on program requirements, fellowships, job placement, and Graduate School regulations. He is responsible for disseminating graduate student program information, maintaining up-to-date status information of all current and recent graduate students for administrative reports, and providing updates for the graduate program’s portion of the sociology department web site. Robert is also responsible for course registration for 5xxx- and 8xxx-level courses, Request for Graduate Credit forms (for non-degree seeking students), and International TA Classroom Communication Skills courses. Robert coordinates the new cohort orientation and the election of graduate student representatives for department committees. He works closely with the Graduate School, is the assistant to the Director of Graduate Studies, and he supports the Graduate Committee. Necessary department and Graduate School forms, guidelines, and policy statements for the graduate program are available from him or online at http://www.grad.umn.edu/current_students/forms/index.html. All faculty and graduate students are asked to keep Robert informed of students’ progress through the program, including assistantship status, registration, advisor and committee member selection (including changes), milestone completion, and graduation information, in addition to current address, phone, e-mail, and name changes.
