Tenure-track Assistant Professor position, open specialty
The Department of Sociology at the University of Minnesota invites
applications for a full-time, tenure-track regular faculty position,
field of expertise open. The appointment will begin Fall 2009 (August
31, 2009) and will be at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidates will be expected to participate in both the undergraduate and graduate curricula, maintain an active research agenda, and contribute service appropriate to the appointment rank. Salary is competitive. We will favor candidates whose dossiers demonstrate scholarly distinction and a record of publications.
REQUIRED/ PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS:
Applicants at the tenure-track level must be ABD in sociology or a related field or have a Ph.D. completed. Completion of a Ph.D. is necessary to begin employment in the tenure-track assistant professor position. Applicants will be evaluated based on the following criteria: research excellence and relevance to the field, teaching effectiveness, and service. Applications from scholars of color are strongly encouraged.
