1982/83 to 2004/05 (in Constant 2004 dollars) This table shows the trends in faculty
salaries in constant (inflation free) dollars over two decades -- years of
flat salaries and years of increases above the rate of inflation. For the
first time, all ranks of faculty received a raise higher than the rate of
inflation in the 1998/99 academic year. This trend continues through the
2000/01 academic year, with the exception of instructors. After the 2000/01
academic year, above inflation raises do not occur across all ranks, while
real salary growth for all ranks except new assistant professors is less than
one percent per year. |
